The cost break down updated!
40g of Tobacco (Colt Smooth Taste) = RM12.90
31 x Empty cigarette tubes at 7 cents a tube = RM2.17
Cost of 1 cigarette = RM12.90 + RM2.17 / 31 = RM0.49
How much money can you save?
Cost of 1 pack (Self Made) = RM 0.49 x 20 = RM9.80
Cost of 1 pack (Dunhill / Marlboro) = RM17.00 (44% savings)
Cost of 1 cigarette (Pall Mall/L&M) = RM15.50 (38% savings)
If you smoke 1 pack a day...
Self made cigarettes will cost you 30 x RM9.80 = RM 294.00
(Dunhill / Marlboro) will cost you 30 x RM17.00 = RM 510.00
(Pall Mall / L & M) will cost you 30 x RM15.50 = RM 465.00
So what can you do with an extra RM 171 or RM 216 in savings each month?
You can save even more money if you buy your tobacco from airport or duty free zone!

Cost Break Down For Making Your Own Cigarettes
With a cigarette maker, you need to buy your own tobacco and empty cigarette filter tubes.
40g Tobacco can range from RM12.90 to RM16.90 depending on the blend, brand and flavor. You can get it much cheaper from DUTY Free zone.
As for empty cigarette filter tubes, they are slightly harder to find but can be found. If you know of a source, kindly share them in the comments section. The price can range from 6 cents to 10 cents a tube. We have them for 7 cents a tube.
40 g of tobacco can yield you at least 40 sticks of cigarette depending on how you make them. You have control over how strong you want to make your cigarette.
40 sticks of empty cigarette filter tubes will cost you about RM1.40
So the total cost for 40 sticks of your own made cigarettes will be at minimum RM14.30 or RM7.15 per pack.
Can be much lesser if you use cheaper tobacco (e.g duty free or grade B or lower grade tobacco).
If you're not quitting, at least try saving and enjoy the various blends and flavors the industry has to offer!
*Contraband cigarettes maybe cheaper but they are illegal and you don't know how clean their process is and what tobacco they are using*

Johor to BAN sale of vaping products by 1st January 2016. There's no doubt other states many follow suit.
